On one hand, we have the scorching heat draining out all our energy and on the other, we have vibrant fruits of the season that give us a good reason to love summers. Recently when I went for grocery shopping got some fresh Lychee. After eating some of them I thought why not make some drink out of it.  So here I am presenting a Lychee Nojito for my non-alcoholic friends.

Lychee Nojito is a refreshing drink made using the combination of lychee fruit, mint, lemon juice, and soda. The Nojito is a mocktail (non-alcoholic) version of the Mojito, which is just as tasty as the original. All that refreshing mint and lime flavor remain, you just lose the alcohol.

From boosting your immune system to aiding blood circulation, this juicy and delicious fruit boasts of many health benefits. With its high water content, it is a great fruit to keep you hydrated during this hot weather. Lychee has a high dose of Vitamin C which helps restore your immunity and keeps your skin healthy. It is also rich in Vitamin D

For guests and loved ones who aren’t looking to get boozed up, this recipe is worth the time.

Ingredients Checklist:

How to make Lychee Nojito:

Step1: Peel and remove the seeds from lychee.

Step2: Place 3-4 lychees, 3–5 mint leaves, sugar(or honey), lemon juice in each glass then using a muddler or a wooden spoon, squish them all together so that the lychee and the mint leaves releases their flavors. Alternatively, you may add them in blending jar along with ice-cubes and pulse it for 1-2 times. You can also use the shaker to crush them a bit.

Step3: Fill each glass with some fresh Lychee, mint leaves, and ice-cubes.

Step4: Pour crushed mixture then add club soda and Lychee juice. (If you don’t have Lychee juice at home then simply blend some lychee with water and use it in this drink.)

Step5: Garnish with another mint sprig, serve, and enjoy!

Tips:

  • The muddling step is important. Despite how fragrant mint it, those leaves won’t give up their flavor until you press them.
  • If you don’t have Lychee juice at home then simply blend some lychee with water and use it in this drink.
