Strawberry Lassi

Rate this post

Strawberry Lassi is a nice, bright lassi that is especially tasty in the spring and summer when strawberries and mint are in season. It is mainly a yogurt-based strawberry milkshake or smoothie. If you love strawberries and strawberry yogurt drinks, then you would definitely love to devour this strawberry lassi. What else could be greater than the use of seasonal produce for making summer cooling and energizing drinks?

In summer, all we want is to keep hydrated ourselves. Also most of the time, we don’t feel like eating something heavy. All we need is some kind of energy in terms of healthy and hydrating drinks. That’s where this lassi comes in. Strawberry lassi is a cooling, presentable, and the delightful beverage made from fresh strawberries, some yogurt, sugar, and fennel powder.

I was bored of making the same strawberry smoothie every time for our family, so this time I thought of giving it a little twist and added mint and fennel in my Strawberry Lassi and to my surprise, it was a perfect combination. My husband liked it very much and said it has a very unique taste.

How to make Strawberry Lassi:

Step1: Remove the green part of the strawberries and wash them. Roughly chop the strawberries.

Step2: If you don’t have fennel powder handy then, follow this step: Heat a pan in low flame and dry roast them for 2 min, then grind them into a fine powder. Toasting fennel seeds before grinding will brings out their flavor.

Step3: Combine the strawberries, curd/yogurt, sugar/honey, lemon juice, mint, ground fennel, and rosewater (if using) in a blender; blend on high speed until smooth and creamy. Taste and add water if needed; you want this to be creamy but thin enough to drink.

Pour into 2 glasses and serve with mint and ice cubes. Enjoy

Strawberry Lassi

  • Make sure you toast the fennel seeds before grinding them; it brings out their flavor.
  • I love how rosewater makes the strawberries taste even fruitier, but if you can’t find it, use cherry juice instead.
  • Use fresh strawberries
