When two favorite dishes Samosa & Chole are combined and topped with creamy yogurt, chopped onions, chili, fresh coriander along with red and green chutney with an added sprinkle of spice mix the result is irresistible. All you have to do is to prepare chole well in advance and use homemade or store-bought samosa and assemble them with your favorite chutney. Chole Samosa Chaat is a dish that you will love to make at home as it can be plated up in 10 minutes.

Chaat is a popular Indian savory snack available in several variations. It is spicy, tangy, and sweet and popular street food in India. It is made with a variety of ingredients that focus on high taste and a mix of texture. They will always be drizzled with an assortment of highly flavored chutney, fresh cilantro, and crisp bits of some kind.

We all love parties but we are always worried about the extra food left for the next day. So today I am going to show you a delicious and mouth-watering recipe with leftover samosa. I made this Samosa Chaat the day I made homemade Samosa, I just prepared chole so that it can be used in both ways i:e for making samosa chaat and leftover can be used as next meal main course.

The samosa chaat is very easy to put together. However, in order to do, you have to make sure that all the components of the chaat are ready and good to go!

While the recipe is mainly assembling and crushing the samosa, yet some tips, suggestions, and variations to samosa chaat recipe. Firstly, if you are preparing this recipe with any leftover samosa, I would suggest to pre-heat the samosa before using it. you can either deep fry quickly for 2-3 minutes in low flame or microwave or air-fry. Also, assemble the chaat right before serving it. Keep all the ingredients ready and assemble just before eating otherwise the samosa will become soggy and you will not be able to enjoy the crispness of it.

For the detailed recipe of samosa and chole follow Punjabi Chole Masala and Samosa. Once everything is ready, then you just need to assemble and serve the samosa chaat to your family or friends. This is my new favorite way to enjoy samosa.

How to make Samosa Chaat :

Step1: Warm the samosas in an air-fryer, oven, microwave, or in a pan. Then roughly break 2 samosas on a plate.

Step2: Add 4-5 tablespoon of hot chole masala on top of the broken samosa.

Step3: Pour 2-3 tablespoon of thick yogurt. I like to add some sugar while whisking the yogurt to make it a little sweet.

Step4: Add some finely chopped onion and green chili. You may also add finely chopped deseeded tomato along with the onion.

Step5: Top with some green chutney, some sweet tamarind chutney. You can add the sweet and spicy chutney less or more and as per your requirements.

Step6: And finally sprinkle the Samosa Chaat with some chaat masala powder, cumin powder and red chili powder. Drizzle with some lemon juice. Top with some sev and boondi.

Step7: Garnish with some freshly chopped coriander leaves and fried chili. Serve samosa chaat immediately. Prepare remaining servings of the samosa chaat this way.

Tips:

  • Add warm samosa while making chaat also break them roughly so that it will absorb the gravy from chole masala.
  • I prefer to use sweet yogurt while making chaat, for that simply add 1-2 tablespoon of sugar in the curd and whisk until dissolved.
  • Usually, chaat should be a bit more spicy and tangy so add more spices and chilies.
  • Instead of using chole or chane you may also use white peas (ragda) for making samosa chaat.
  • Serve it immediately after assembling otherwise, the samosa will become soggy and won’t taste that good and crunchy.
